Job summary

Methodist Hospital Texsan in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) to assess, treat, and monitor patients with pulmonary disorders. The role involves operating ventilators, administering therapies, and collaborating with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.

You will perform ABG analysis, respond to emergencies, and ensure therapy aligns with physician orders and patient needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• Texas license to practice Respiratory Care.
• NBRC credentials (RRT or CRT before 2002 grandfathered).
• BLS required; ACLS within 90 days; PALS/NRP within 90 days if required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat and care for patients with pulmonary disorders.
• Operate and set up medical devices and therapies per protocol.
• Provide emergency care including ventilation and CPR support.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases and monitor patient response.
• Consult with physicians and nurses to manage patient plans of care.
