Job summary

Pet Paradise in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Resort Manager to lead daily operations at the Charlottesville Resort. You will oversee staff, improve guest experiences, drive sales, and ensure safety and care for our pet guests.

This role requires strong leadership, staffing, and operational rigor in a fast-paced pet care environment. The position emphasizes hands-on management, weekend/holiday coverage, and collaboration with maintenance and corporate teams to uphold our standards and pet

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a management role overseeing 20–30 employees.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with interviewing, hiring, evaluating candidates, and assessing performance.
• Leadership experience in animal care, retail, hospitality, or similar.
• Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Comfortable around dogs and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Flexible to resort schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and working motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily resort operations and ensure standards of conduct, cleanliness, and safety.
• Oversee staffing: scheduling, payroll, labor budgets, hiring, and terminations.
• Coach and develop team members through training and leadership development.
• Maintain communication with resort, regional, and corporate teams; coordinate with maintenance.
• Monitor customer experience and sales performance; manage costs and inventory.
• Handle customer escalations and organize policies for front- and back-of-house.
• Deliver annual performance reviews and ensure timely communications.
