Job summary

NVA Pet Resorts in Louisville, Kentucky is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to lead our Fern Creek resort and partner with the General Manager to drive daily operations, care for pets, and deliver outstanding service to clients and teammates.

You'll coach Shift Leads and Team Members, manage staff and budgets, and champion a culture of hospitality and accountability across all resort tasks and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 to 4 years of customer service experience; leadership experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and comfort leading teams in a hands-on environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems.
• Availability to work up to 45–50 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license, current insurance, and a vehicle for transporting a pet in an emergency.

Responsibilities

• Model NVA values and leadership competencies in daily behavior.
• Coach and develop Shift Leads and Team Members to build capability.
• Maintain operational excellence across pet care, facilities, and safety.
• Lead 1–2 shifts per week as Manager on Duty and manage staffing and scheduling.
• Execute daily audits, checklists, and end-of-shift reporting.
• Support marketing programs and local lead-generation efforts.
• Track leads and improve conversion, cost management, and performance.
