Job summary

NVA Pet Resorts is seeking an hands-on Assistant General Manager to help lead our PetSuites Fern Creek resort in Louisville, Kentucky. You will partner with the General Manager to run daily operations, develop the team, and deliver excellent care and service to pets and their people.

Responsibilities include coaching shifts, managing guest experiences, driving revenue, controlling costs, and building a culture that supports growth and retention across a busy resort environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of customer service experience with leadership experience a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead teams hands-on.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and point‑of‑sale systems.
• Availability to work up to 45 to 50 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license, current insurance, and a vehicle to transport a pet in an emergency.

Responsibilities

• Model NVA values and leadership competencies in daily work.
• Coach and develop Shift Leads and Team Members to build capability.
• Lead 1–2 shifts per week as Manager on Duty and oversee staffing and scheduling.
• Resolve customer concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Ensure teams are trained and proficient across all resort tasks and operating standards.
• Support budgeting, KPI tracking, and performance reporting.
