Job summary

Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center in Breckenridge, CO seeks a Controller to oversee daily accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and revenue accounting. The role leads month-end close, audits, and fixed-asset accounting while ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.

On-premises, year-round, with transitional housing available. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in resort or hospitality finance, along with proficiency in NetSuite and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field – required.
• CPA or CMA designation or candidate - preferred.
• 3+ years progressive supervisory/leadership experience - required.
• 10+ years of progressive financial management experience – required.
• 3+ years in a resort, HOA, hospitality environment or multi-department operating experience – preferred.
• Deep understanding of HOA accounting standards, including fund accounting and reserve study planning - required.
• Proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite, Profitsword, Inventory Systems, PM or similar) – required.
• Experience with hospitality PMS systems, such as Springer-Miller – preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - required.
• Proficient in English - written and spoken – required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Oversee payroll processing and payroll accounting, with HR coordination.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, vendor management, and cash controls.
• Coordinate multi-entity and intercompany accounting and eliminations.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and strengthen internal controls across departments.
• Oversee inventory accounting and related reconciliations.
