Job summary

Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa is seeking a Property Controller to lead on-site accounting operations for Rooms, F&B, and Retail. You will oversee month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and income audits, while mentoring a small accounting team and partnering with resort leaders to drive financial performance.

The role requires a minimum of 7 years in accounting, hospitality experience preferred, and strong Excel/analytical skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
7+ years of accounting experience in month-end close/general ledger.
Experience in hospitality or resort accounting is preferred.
CPA/CMA is preferred but not required.
Strong Excel, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee on-site resort accounting functions including month-end close, reconciliations, cash handling, and income audits.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
Perform variance analysis and communicate budget/deviation to leadership.
Maintain internal controls and conduct cash audits to safeguard assets.
Supervise accounting staff (2–3 direct reports) and develop the team.
Support annual budgets, forecasting, and HOA accounting requirements.
