Job summary

Terra Energy is seeking a field-based Site Surveyor to gather accurate measurements and assess site conditions for residential solar installations. You will document everything needed for design and planning, acting as the eyes and ears of the operation on-site while working independently and coordinating with internal teams.

This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and comfort working outdoors with daily travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Have experience in solar, construction, roofing, surveying, or a related field.
• Understand basic residential electrical systems and roof structures.
• Are comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
• Are proficient with smartphones, tablets, and mobile apps.
• Have strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Are able to travel locally on a daily basis.
• OSHA 10, drone certification, or similar credentials (a plus).

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site surveys for residential and commercial solar projects to collect data for design and installation.
• Measure roof dimensions, pitch, azimuth, shading, and structural conditions for accurate planning.
• Review electrical panels, meter locations, and interconnection points for system compatibility.
• Take detailed photos, notes, and drone imagery for internal teams.
• Identify potential installation challenges such as roof damage or obstructions.
• Enter survey data into company software and CRM to keep projects moving.
• Coordinate with sales, design, permitting, and installation teams.
• Ensure tools and vehicles are maintained and surveys follow safety protocols.
• Represent Terra Energy professionally during site visits.
