Job summary

Terra Energy is seeking a field-based Survey Technician to support residential solar installations. You will conduct on-site surveys, gather precise measurements, and document site conditions to feed system design and planning.

This role requires you to be detail-oriented, able to work outdoors, and comfortable traveling daily to project sites. You will coordinate with sales, design, permitting, and installation teams and uphold safety standards in all surveys.

Qualifications

• Experience in solar, construction, roofing, surveying, or related field.
• Understand basic residential electrical systems and roof structures.
• Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
• Proficient with smartphones, tablets, and mobile apps.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Willingness to travel locally daily.
• OSHA 10 or drone-related credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site surveys for residential and commercial solar projects, collecting data to support design and installation.
• Measure roof dimensions, pitch, azimuth, shading, and structural conditions for accurate planning.
• Review electrical panels, meter locations, and interconnection points for system compatibility.
• Capture site photos, notes, and drone imagery to provide complete visibility to internal teams.
• Identify installation challenges such as roof damage, obstructions, shading, or access issues.
• Enter survey data into company software and CRM tools to keep projects moving forward.
• Coordinate with sales, design, permitting, and installation teams to ensure alignment.
• Maintain equipment and ensure safety protocols are followed during surveys.
• Represent Terra Energy professionally during site visits and provide a positive customer experience.
