Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician to perform technical and mechanical work ensuring buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet company standards for cleanliness and safety.

The role involves completing work orders, preparing units for leasing, managing inventory, documenting tasks, maintaining grounds, and contributing to cost-control measures. Requires EPA refrigerant certifications and a valid driver’s license. On-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• EPA certifications Type 1 and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling (applies to Certified Service Technicians).
• All certifications as required by State and Local jurisdictions (applies to all Service Technicians).
• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on property depending on property size, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders from resident requests for service and preventative maintenance by diagnosing the defect and making repairs per policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Completes the “make-ready” process to prepare vacant apartments for leasing by performing pre-move-out inspections, creating a punch list, scheduling vendors, obtaining supplies, and inspecting work.
• Follows procedures to access and obtain materials, track inventory, return unused items, and notify the maintenance supervisor about re-ordering needs.
• Completes documentation and paperwork so service requests are documented and tracked.
• Assists in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities by cleaning, debris removal, pressure-washing breezeways and pool areas, painting curbs and signage as needed.
• Supports cost-cutting by fixing parts instead of replacing and using materials efficiently.
• Assists in conducting routine and periodic property inspections to identify safety and risk concerns and communicate needs to management.
