Job summary

Ascendo-Resources is seeking a detail-oriented Loan Assistant / Mortgage Loan Processor to support the residential mortgage lending process from application through closing. The role requires experience with residential mortgage loans, document review, and coordination with loan officers and underwriters to keep files complete and compliant.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in residential mortgage loan processing or related roles.
• Understanding of conventional, FHA, VA, and jumbo loans.
• Familiar with mortgage documentation and underwriting requirements.
• Experience with LOS such as Encompass.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and multitasking.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced lending environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Loan Officers with processing and administration of residential mortgage loan applications.
• Collect, review, and verify borrower documents.
• Prepare and maintain loan files throughout origination and underwriting.
• Coordinate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, title companies and third parties to facilitate closings.
• Order and track appraisals, title reports, insurance, and other documents.
• Monitor loan pipelines and ensure deadlines are met.
• Clear underwriting conditions and prepare loan packages for final approval and closing.
• Ensure compliance with internal lending policies and mortgage regulations.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the lending team.
