Job summary

Ascendo Resources seeks a detail-oriented Loan Assistant / Mortgage Loan Processor to support residential mortgage lending from application to closing. You will review borrower documentation, coordinate with loan officers and underwriters, and ensure files meet compliance and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist Loan Officers with processing and administration of residential mortgage loan applications.
• Collect, review, and verify borrower documentation including income, assets, credit reports, tax returns, and employment information.
• Prepare and maintain accurate loan files through origination and underwriting.
• Coordinate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, title companies, and others to facilitate timely closings.
• Order and track appraisals, title reports, insurance documents, and other required loan documentation.
• Monitor loan pipelines, follow up on conditions, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Assist in clearing underwriting conditions and preparing loan packages for final approval and closing.
• Ensure compliance with internal lending policies and applicable mortgage regulations.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the residential lending team.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Loan Assistant / Mortgage Loan Processor to support the residential mortgage lending process from loan application through closing. The ideal candidate will have experience working with residential mortgage loans, reviewing documentation, coordinating with loan officers and underwriters, and ensuring loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant with lending requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Loan Officers with the processing and administration of residential mortgage loan applications.
• Collect, review, and verify borrower documentation, including income, assets, credit reports, tax returns, and employment information.
• Prepare and maintain accurate loan files throughout the mortgage origination and underwriting process.
• Coordinate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, title companies, and other third parties to facilitate timely loan closings.
• Order and track appraisals, title reports, insurance documents, and other required loan documentation.
• Monitor loan pipelines, follow up on outstanding conditions, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Assist in clearing underwriting conditions and preparing loan packages for final approval and closing.
• Ensure compliance with internal lending policies and applicable mortgage regulations.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the residential lending team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in residential mortgage loan processing, loan assistance, or mortgage operations preferred.
• Strong understanding of residential mortgage lending, including conventional, FHA, VA, and jumbo loans.
• Familiarity with mortgage documentation, underwriting requirements, and the loan closing process.
• Experience using Loan Origination Systems (LOS), such as Encompass, preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced lending environment.
