Job summary

Citi is seeking a Mortgage Lending Officer in California to assess customer financials and determine suitable mortgage solutions. You will engage real estate professionals and clients to build and manage a robust mortgage book, while ensuring compliance with lending rules and Citi policies.

The role emphasizes consultative sales, relationship development, and cross-functional collaboration to close loans and grow the Citi lending business in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant mortgage experience.
• 3+ years mortgage sales experience required.
• Residential Mortgage experience required.
• Established book of business.
• Proven product sales capability.
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred.
• Ability to explain financial calculations and pricing options.
• Ability to communicate required documents to obtain a loan.
• Knowledge of consumer lending laws, including fair lending and RESPA.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong relationship development and management skills.
• Expertise in general lending products and mortgage industry.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about financial situation and lending needs to help achieve home ownership goals.
• Collect and analyze information about finances, goals, risk tolerance, income, assets, debts, and credit history.
• Assess whether customer and property may qualify for a lending solution.
• Recommend lending solutions that meet customer objectives.
• Advise customers on risks and benefits of alternatives.
• Promote Citi's brand and lending services to real estate professionals and customers.
• Visit customers outside Citi offices; vary by geography and market conditions.
• Collaborate with internal partners to support and grow customers.
