Birge & Held is hiring a Service Technician I to support daily maintenance at our McCordsville community. You will assist with upkeep, repairs, and turnover of units, ensuring resident satisfaction and compliance with safety standards.

The role reports to the Operations Manager and requires strong troubleshooting, tools, and time-management skills. Qualifications include HVAC experience or certification, EPA refrigerant handling credentials, a valid driver’s license, OSHA knowledge, and the

Qualifications

• Formal technical training or equivalent job experience in heating and air conditioning preferred.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling preferred or willingness to obtain it upon hire.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for positions traveling between properties.
• OSHA and environmental safety knowledge beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Inspect buildings and common areas to assess cleanliness, safety, and condition.
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Complete all work orders within 48 hours unless urgent action is needed.
• Ensure unit turnovers completed within five working days as directed by the Operations Manager.
• Provide daily progress updates to the operations team and coordinate tasks across the portfolio.
• Maintain grounds and ensure curb appeal; assist in seasonal tasks like snow removal and landscaping.
• Support on-call rotations and respond to emergencies after hours.
