Job summary

Birge & Held is seeking a Service Technician III to ensure the maintenance, functionality, and appearance of our multifamily communities. You will handle HVAC repairs, electrical, plumbing, and grounds tasks, reporting to the Operations Manager.

The role emphasizes timely service requests and quality resident experiences. Requirements include EPA and HVAC certifications, two years in apartment maintenance, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated success in apartment maintenance, construction, or a related field.
• EPA certification required for refrigerant handling, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
• HVAC certification is required.
• For positions that require travel between properties, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
• Provide your own hand tools including but not limited to power drills, impacts, and all non-powered hand tools.
• Able to operate all necessary tools to perform the essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws including Fair Housing and ADA.
• Inspect buildings and common areas for cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal; perform repairs and maintenance.
• Complete and manage work orders promptly; provide progress updates to operations staff.
• Maintain grounds and oversee day-to-day maintenance across the portfolio.
• Complete and submit forms and reports in a timely, accurate manner.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance emergencies.
