Job summary

Birge & Held is seeking a Service Technician I to support daily maintenance at our Fort Wayne properties. You will inspect sites, perform repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other systems, and ensure timely completion of work orders while coordinating with the operations team.

The role requires HVAC knowledge, EPA certification or willingness to obtain, and a valid driver’s license to travel between properties.

Qualifications

• Formal HVAC training or equivalent experience.
• EPA refrigerant handling certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• OSHA and safety standards familiarity.
• Ability to travel between properties with valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support daily maintenance operations across properties.
• Inspect buildings for cleanliness, safety and condition.
• Perform basic repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and structural systems.
• Complete work orders within 48 hours; 5-day turnovers where applicable.
• Maintain on-site asset appearance and coordinate with operations team.
• Participate in on-call rotation and document work orders accurately.
