Job summary

The Leasing Agent at American Homes 4 Rent, L.P. serves as the company’s primary sales representative for prospective residents, driving occupancy through consultative selling and lease conversions.

Responsibilities include engaging with potential tenants, presenting housing options, negotiating terms, and guiding applicants through the leasing journey while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 3 years of related sales or customer-facing sales experience.
• Leasing, real estate, or property management experience is preferred.
• A valid State Real Estate License is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
• Outstanding communication abilities and analytical skills.
• Ability to build relationships, organize tasks, and deliver quality customer service.
• Weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Drives leasing performance by responding to and following up on inquiries from prospective residents.
• Engage with potential tenants, offering housing options to encourage applications.
• Negotiate lease terms and explain leases and documents to new tenants.
• Leasing activities performed in accordance with applicable laws to maximize occupancy.
• Collaborate with underwriting and leasing teams to guide applicants through the leasing journey.
• Stay informed about policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
