Job summary

ATASK seeks a per diem Residential Counselor for its Emergency Shelter in Boston, MA. You will support residents with basic needs, provide emotional support, and help maintain a safe shelter environment 24/7 as needed.

You will work with survivors of domestic violence, participate in staff trainings, and coordinate with CBS Advocates to ensure smooth service delivery. This role requires in-person shelter presence and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a residential facility and/or with domestic violence survivors.
• Complete state-required 25-hour Domestic Violence Training provided by the agency.
• Pass CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check.
• Commitment to ATASK mission of empowerment of survivors of domestic violence and abuse to rebuild their lives.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with everyday basic needs.
• Be available to residents when needed.
• Provide emotional support to residents.
• Manage crisis situations and resolve conflicts/issues.
• Foster relationships with residents to build a sense of community.
• Enforce shelter rules, protocols, and procedures.
• Coordinate with CBS Advocates and other staff to provide services.
• Prepare and maintain shift logs and confidential records.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and supervision meetings.
