ATASK is seeking a per diem Childcare Assistant for its Emergency Shelter in Boston, MA. You will care for and supervise children, plan age-appropriate activities, and communicate with parents as needed. The role is onsite, non-exempt, with hours determined by organizational needs.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated two years of experience working as a childcare provider.
• Ability to observe, respond to children's needs and emergencies.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities.
• Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children in the shelter.
• Provide physical care and cleaning of young children as required, including changing diapers, assisting with toileting, wiping runny noses and providing hand sanitizer.
• Develop and maintain supportive relationships with shelter clients and their families.
• Plan and implement indoor and outdoor activities, including songs, puzzles, arts and crafts, reading and games.
• Communicate with parents via GroupMe about emergencies or notification requests.
• Follow shelter policies regarding confidentiality and safety.
• Maintain open communication with shelter staff and parents using GroupMe.
• Provide regular updates to Shelter Manager; complete incident reports when needed.
