Job summary

BAMSI is seeking a Residential Counselor - MAP to provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), helping residents develop daily living skills and community integration. You will teach ADLs, monitor medications, and implement treatment plans under clinician guidance.

The role is 16 hours per week (Tuesdays to Fridays 4pm-8pm), non-exempt, with competitive pay and opportunities for CEU trainings within a supportive team focused on dignity and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; mental health experience preferred.
• Strong communication in English and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and trauma-informed approach are essential.
• Bonus: lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).

Responsibilities

• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization.
• Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications per MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
