Job summary

BAMSI is seeking a Residential Counselor for the MAP program in Brockton, MA. The role offre rs a 40-hour work week Mon-Fri, 7am-3pm, with a pay range of $20 to $21.25 per hour; the position is non-exempt under the FLSA.

The candidate will support residents with ADLs, implement treatment plans, supervise medications, and help coordinate appointments and activities. BAMSI emphasizes trauma-informed care and accessible services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; experience in mental health preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility and transportation.
• Proficient in basic computer use and strong English communication.
• Commitment to trauma‑informed care and compassionate service.
• Lived experience or multilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer or supervise medications per MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Bonus: Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
