Job summary

BAMSI is seeking a Residential Counselor for the MAP program in a group living environment. You will provide rehabilitative support to adults, teaching daily living skills and facilitating community integration.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, medication supervision, transport, advocacy, and maintaining safety and documentation. Requires a high school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mental health experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Good English communication and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer or supervise medications per MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.

What You’ll Do:

What You Bring:

• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Bonus: Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
