Job summary

Community Housing Innovations is seeking a part-time Resident Support Specialist (RSS) for our Medford, NY location. You will provide a safe, structured environment for residents and staff, monitor conduct during shifts, and support daily operations at the front desk.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1–2 years of related experience, and strong English communication skills. Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus. Shifts include weekends and evenings with overtime available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of experience in related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; proficiency in English.
• Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus.
• Basic computer skills: MS Windows, MS Office, and internet usage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visibility to residents, staff, and visitors by wearing a safety monitor vest, ID badge, and professional attire.
• Screen all clients and visitors entering the facility.
• Perform bag searches upon intake and as required.
• Ensure clients abide by facility policies and procedures.
• De-escalate potential crisis situations and document interventions.
• Conduct rounds throughout the facility and monitor common areas.
• Complete logs and required documentation.
• Perform administrative and receptionist duties at the front desk.
• Support fire drills and safety procedures.
• Assist with room preparation and turnover for new clients.
