Job summary

Avanath is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to support all operational duties of the community, including reporting, rent processing, leasing, and marketing. The role oversees staff in the Community Manager’s absence and requires professionalism and positive engagement with residents and workforce.

Key responsibilities include resident relations, fiduciary tasks (rent collection and deposits), and coordinating with the Compliance department to maintain policy adherence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as an Assistant Community Manager.
• LIHTC/Tax Credit Program Knowledge required.
• Excellent communication and unmatched dedication to customer service.
• Solid track record of bookkeeping and rent collection.
• Thorough understanding of landlord/tenant law.
• Strong understanding of Fair Housing Laws.
• Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible.
• Solid computer knowledge: Windows (Word, Excel), internet, and e‑mail.
• Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software.

Responsibilities

• Provide A+ customer service at all times.
• Manage and promote resident satisfaction and retention by addressing complaints and requests promptly.
• Serve as a resource center for residents on community-life issues and rent payments.
• Organize and execute resident appreciation and retention events.
• Maintain secure, confidential files for residents.
• Answer phones, greet visitors, and handle foot traffic.
• Assist with leasing duties, including tours for prospective residents.
• Oversee property operations and staff in Community Manager’s absence.
• Support Leasing Consultants while ensuring Fair Housing guidelines are followed.
