Job summary

Luster is seeking Resident Engineers of various levels to support large heavy civil infrastructure programs across highways, bridges, transit, aviation, and water/wastewater projects. These roles run field offices, administer contracts, oversee inspection staff, and ensure plans and specs are followed.

Candidates join a talent pool for upcoming needs. Responsibilities include administering contracts, coordinating with agency staff and designers, reviewing submittals and RFIs, and tracking

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in construction management or resident engineering on large, complex projects.
• Experience administering field contract administration, submittals, RFI, and progress payments.
• Experience overseeing inspection staff and field documentation on active sites.
• Knowledge of construction means/methods, QA, and field documentation standards.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and schedules; familiarity with PM software.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Administer field construction contracts, ensuring conformance to plans and specs.
• Oversee inspection staff and daily field documentation.
• Serve as focal point for correspondence with contractor and coordinate with agency staff.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings with design team.
• Evaluate progress vs schedule and approve progress payments.
• Analyze change requests and development of independent cost/schedule positions.
• Coordinate with designers, utility owners, railroads, airports, and adjacent contracts to resolve conflicts.
• Maintain complete construction records and as-built docs in PMIS.
