Job summary

Luster National is actively seeking Resident Engineers to support large, complex heavy civil infrastructure programs across highways, bridges, transit, airports, and water facilities. These roles manage field contracts, oversee inspection teams, and ensure compliance with plans and specifications on an assigned project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of construction management or resident engineering on large heavy-civil projects.
• Experience administering field contracts, submittals, RFI, change management and payments.
• Experience overseeing inspection staff and site documentation.
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, QA and field documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer construction contracts in the field and enforce plan requirements.
• Oversee inspection staff, field coverage, and daily documentation.
• Coordinate with contractor, agency staff, and designer of record.
• Review submittals, RFIs, shop drawings and coordinate responses with design team.
• Evaluate progress, verify quantities, and recommend progress payments.
• Analyze changes, potential change orders, and claims with independent cost/schedule positions.
• Oversee QA activities and track nonconformances, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with designers, utilities, rail, airports, and adjacent contracts to resolve conflicts.
• Maintain construction records and as-built documentation for audits.
