Job summary

EverTrue is seeking a kitchen professional to prepare meals efficiently according to menus and recipes, while directing dining staff when needed to ensure a quality product for residents. The role may report to Chefs or Dining Service Supervisors and involves maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will follow standardized production, ensure portion control, and uphold infection control and safety procedures while contributing to a positive dining experience for residents and customers.

Qualifications

• Two years’ institutional cooking, prep cooking or kitchen work preferred.
• Willing to receive a Hepatitis A vaccine if working within health regulations.
• Ability to plan, organize, interpret, make independent decisions and direct work of employees.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for all meals following menus and recipes.
• Ensure meals taste and look appealing; test and adjust flavor, texture and temperature.
• Prepare appropriate portions and quantities; accommodate dietary requests.
• Maintain sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas; operate equipment safely.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures and report hazards or faulty equipment.
• Comply with EverTrue policies and applicable laws and standards.
