Job summary

Tidewater Community College seeks a Part-Time Domicile Specialist to support the Office of the College Registrar by reviewing and processing residency applications for in-state tuition eligibility. Qualifications

• Knowledge of residency/domicile regulations and ability to learn state policy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate documentation objectively.
• Knowledge and ability to interpret, apply and communicate policies relate to admission, enrollment, and records.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Review student applications to determine eligibility for in-state tuition per state regulations and college policy.
• Communicate with students to request documentation and explain residency requirements in clear language.
• Process domicile determinations, reclassifications, and appeals following procedures and timelines.
• Maintain accurate records of domicile decisions and ensure documentation meets required standards.
• Provide guidance to students, parents, and staff regarding domicile rules and residency status.
• Assist with training front-line staff on domicile procedures and policy updates.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts for consistent applications.
• Uphold confidentiality and FERPA compliance.
• Support audits of domicile files for compliance.
• Assist with domicile outreach communications.
• Perform other duties as needed.
