Job summary

Towson University is seeking a Residency Coordinator to manage in-state residency petitions for undergraduate and graduate students. The role involves adherence to USM policies, FERPA compliance, and close coordination with the Residency Appeal Committee.

The position also covers reenrollment residency determinations, outreach to affected students, and maintenance of academic databases (PeopleSoft, Salesforce). Telework may be available after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Two years of professional experience in higher education or related office experience.
• Technical proficiency in MS Excel
• Strong interpersonal skills with a patient and customer-focused approach.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency in all aspects of work.
• Adept at reviewing and interpreting detailed information to support effective and impactful decision-making

Responsibilities

• Process undergraduate and graduate residency petitions for in-state tuition with supporting documents and FERPA policy compliance.
• Evaluate residency for reenrollment and gather backup documentation; ensure consistency with policy.
• Serve as main contact for residency petitions and inquiries; support Residency Appeal Committee and university admins.
• Manage Maryland Dream Act student population with outreach and documentation collection.
• Maintain online Residency Petition; update PeopleSoft and Salesforce; assist audits and policy updates.
• Assist with online reenrollment processing in Salesforce and PeopleSoft; back up for exchange programs and special projects.
