Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach is seeking a Part‑Time Domicile Specialist to support the Office of the College Registrar. You will review residency applications, determine in‑state eligibility, and maintain compliant records while assisting students and staff with residency policies.

News includes training frontline staff, collaborating across departments, and ensuring FERPA adherence. Hours are 29 per week, with some evenings/weekends during peak periods.

• Knowledge of residency/domicile regulations and ability to learn state policy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate documentation objectively.
• Knowledge and ability to interpret, apply and communicate FERPA and college policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to organize and maintain files and work in a team.

Responsabilidades

• Review student domicile applications to determine eligibility for in‑state tuition according to state regulations and college policy.
• Communicate with students to request documentation and explain residency requirements clearly.
• Process domicile determinations, reclassification requests, and appeals following established procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of domicile decisions and ensure documentation meets regulatory standards.
• Provide guidance to students, parents, and staff regarding domicile rules and residency requirements.
• Assist with training frontline staff on domicile procedures and updates to state policy.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts to ensure consistent application of domicile determinations.
• Uphold confidentiality and comply with FERPA and institutional policies.
• Support periodic audits or reviews of domicile files for compliance.
• Assist with domicile outreach communications.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.
