Job summary

Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica is seeking a guest-focused hospitality professional to support reservations and guest services. You will book room requests, enter rooming lists, and ensure accurate follow-through to deliver an exemplary guest experience.

The role requires prior customer service experience, comfort with Opera PMS, and strong interpersonal skills to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment near the Santa Monica coastline.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests.
• Book and enter room reservations using the Property Management System (Opera).
• Enter rooming lists accurately and manage requests.
• Take ownership of guest requests and follow up per hotel standards.
• Review daily arrivals and audit duplicate reservations and special requests.
• Communicate with Front Office/Guest Services to ensure requests are met.
• Update reservations for smooth check-in/out processes.
• Assist in maximizing revenue by upselling rooms and hotel facilities.
• Coordinate with Sales and other departments as needed.
• Respond to phone and email inquiries in a timely manner.

Reporting to the Revenue Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Book and enter room reservation requests using the Property Management System
• Enter rooming lists while ensuring accuracy, as required
• Take ownership of the caller’s request and ensure follow up according to the hotel’s standards
• Review daily arrivals and audit duplicate reservations, special requests (such as connecting, nearby, etc.).
• Communicate with Front Office/Guest Services team to ensure requests are followed through
• Update reservations ensuring a flawless check in and check out process
• Ensure revenue is maximized by up-selling guest rooms and recommending hotel facilities
• Liaise with Sales and other departments as required
• Answer telephone and email inquiries in a timely manner

• Previous customer related experience required
• Previous Property Manager System (Opera) experience preferred
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
