Research Technician - Rotating Shifts (Finance)

Produce high-quality products and services for our customers. You will assemble and inspect products to ensure the highest quality is provided. You will be responsible for your work area to ensure safe and efficient operations. You will set up and monitor production in your area and participate in continuous improvement processes addressing safety, production, and quality enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform laboratory experiments up to kilo-scale involving hazardous materials under the guidance of a chemist or chemical engineer.
  2. Support lab experiments, perform calculations, analyze data, maintain records, and report data accurately.
  3. Troubleshoot kilo-lab scale equipment.
  4. Perform routine lab HSE and HOS tasks.

The annual base salary range for this position is provided as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including scope, responsibilities, candidate's experience, education, skills, market, and business considerations.

In October 2024, Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a standalone, publicly traded company. This role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, is expected to be part of this future transaction upon separation.

YOU MUST HAVE

Education/Experience: Minimum of a two-year chemistry-related degree is required. Internal applicants may have 5 years of total chemical operator experience, including at least 1 year in Pilot Plant. A four-year chemistry degree is valued.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to work safely with hazardous materials, including hydrofluoric acid (HF), fluorosulfonic acid (FSA), etc.
  • Good chemical knowledge and mechanical aptitude to assemble, run, and troubleshoot experiments and equipment.
  • Ability to learn and operate analytical equipment such as Gas Chromatograph and other laboratory instruments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and process control software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move up to 600-pound drums and 250-pound gas cylinders using appropriate handling equipment, lift and carry up to 35 pounds, climb ladders and scaffolding, wear PPE and respiratory equipment.
  • Willingness to work rotating 8-hour shifts.

Hours:

  • Training on 1st shift, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Post-training, transition to 2nd shift, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, for approximately 9 months.
  • Followed by rotating shifts.
  • Overtime is included.
