Job summary

Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) seeks a Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) Career Planner for the IowaWORKS Center in Mason City, IA. The role delivers RESEA components, assists claimants with UI processes, and helps participants build plans for employment.

This full-time position offers telework flexibility after a 6‑month probation, some travel, and opportunities to support job seekers and employers across the local workforce system.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of unemployment insurance processes and RESEA requirements.
• Strong customer service and communication skills for diverse claimants.
• Ability to document activities accurately in a case management system.
• Ability to collaborate with workforce partners and staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver RESEA program components during participant appointments.
• Review UI claim status and refer issues to appropriate staff.
• Provide RESEA information and guidance on program requirements.
• Verify work search compliance and document activities.
• Promote workshops and register claimants for relevant sessions.
• Refer qualified candidates by evaluating eligibility against job orders.
• Assist customers with work registrations and update Individual Service Plans.
• Prepare RESEA Agreement of Participation outlining program requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and update materials to reflect changes.
• Maintain documentation of services, appointments, and activities in the database.
• Perform UI activities per unemployment rules and Iowa law.
• Assist with filing UI claims and respond to questions.
• Ensure UI decisions and notices are properly organized and up to date.
• Prepare for UI appeals when necessary and participate as needed.
• Educate customers on IowaWORKS Center services and employment opportunities.
