Job summary

Rullion is seeking a Grid Engineer to provide specialist electrical engineering expertise across a portfolio of renewable energy projects. You will manage grid connection processes from concept to delivery, liaising with DNOs and contractors, and ensuring compliance with grid requirements.

The role requires experience in renewables, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to travel across the UK and overseas.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience managing grid connection from concept to delivery.
• Specialist electrical engineering experience in renewables.
• Knowledge of transmission and distribution grid connection requirements.
• Experience managing contractors, costs and commercial issues.
• Experience reviewing connection offers and resolving queries.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and travel flexibility.
• Commitment to health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage grid connection processes for multiple renewable energy projects from concept through to delivery.
• Oversee grid connection liabilities, securities, contractors and consultants.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, scopes of work, design requirements and contract documentation.
• Resolve technical, legal and commercial queries relating to grid connection offers and project delivery.
• Manage project variations involving changes to scope, cost and schedule.
• Identify, assess and mitigate grid and electrical risks throughout the asset lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and internal engineering standards.
• Provide technical support during high-risk situations, including corrective actions and root cause analysis.
• Support technical and commercial due diligence, cost optimisation and continuous improvement of engineering procedures.
• Represent the business in meetings with external stakeholders, including network operators and industry bodies.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and senior stakeholders to support project delivery and business growth.
• Provide regular progress reports to the Lead Engineer - Grid and Head of Electrical Connections.
• Travel across the UK and overseas as required.
