The Storage Architect designs and implements enterprise storage, leads modernization efforts, and oversees DASD, tape libraries, SMS administration, and storage provisioning while ensuring audit readiness and reliable daily operations.

Qualifications

• Experience as SME for z/OS storage; hands-on design and implementation of new storage solutions.
• Familiar with DASD, tape libraries, and SMS administration.
• Ability to support storage modernization and audit readiness.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discovery interviews to identify storage strategy and requirements.
• Consult on new solutions and third-party vendor management for modernization.
• Implement, administer, and support z/OS storage infrastructure and provisioning.
• Manage DASD, virtual and physical tape environments.
• Oversee SMS configuration and administration.
• Monitor storage utilization and perform capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot storage incidents and support backup/recovery.
• Maintain system documentation and compliance for audits.
