Qualifications

• Experience serving as SME on z/OS Storage and providing hands on support designing and implementing new solutions.
• Familiarity with DASD storage management and tape libraries.
• Experience administering SMS and related storage subsystems.
• Ability to lead storage modernization efforts and drive audit readiness.

Responsibilities

Job description

Hansen Talent Group is seeking a Storage Architect to support z/OS storage solutions. This is a fully remote position supporting multiple large data center environments for both commercial and government clients. Candidates must be able to obtain a public trust. The z/OS Storage Architect is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of enterprise solutions, supporting daily storage subsystem operations, and leading modernization efforts within the environment.

Duties:

• Participate in discovery interviews to identify corporate and client storage strategy, business requirements, and compliance regulations to support design and storage planning
• Provide consultation on new solutions, the implementation of new technologies, and 3rd-party vendor management, supporting efforts to modernize and optimize the z/OS Mainframe environment and storage subsystems.
• Implement, administer, and support z/OS storage infrastructure, including overseeing storage allocation andprovisioning as well as analyzing storageperformance.
• Manage DASD storage, virtual tape storage, and physical tape environments.
• Oversee SMS configuration and administration.
• Monitor storage utilization, perform capacity planning, and recommend storage optimization strategies.
• Troubleshoot storage incidents as well as support backup/recovery efforts.
• Maintain system documentation, workflow diagrams, and compliance requirements to ensure audit readiness.
