Job summary

AMroute LLC is seeking a Solutions Architect for a remote, long-term engagement. The role emphasizes z/OS mainframe storage operations, SMS/DASD optimization, and DR readiness across multiple mainframe environments.

You will monitor and manage Dell EMC storage products, perform daily tasks, run SCRT/SMF reports, and coordinate hardware patches while ensuring data integrity and availability. This contractor role requires US citizenship and government clearance.

Qualifications

• Performs mainframe storage operations using z/OS tools to optimize SMS/DASD utilization.
• Maintains HSM/DLM health, audits volumes/datasets, and submits CRs/incidents as needed.
• Produces SCRT/SMF reports and performs automation for reclaim/housekeeping.
• Coordinates Dell hardware patching and DR activation/teardown activities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SMS pools daily and adjust to ensure efficient SMS/DASD usage.
• Submit CRs/Incidents to maintain storage reliability and stability.
• Check HSM control datasets and daily activity status for HSM and DLM.
• Initialize disk volumes and run tape connected pair consolidations as needed.
• Install and maintain DLM Utilities, Solutions Enabler, GDDR, TapeCopy and Unisphere.
