Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) is seeking a Workforce Advantage Success Coach to serve as the primary contact and trusted coach for Workforce Advantage participants. You will provide individualized case management, help students navigate barriers, and connect them with campus and community resources, guiding enrollment through credential completion into employment or career advancement.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to build trusting, supportive relationships with diverse populations.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Comfortable learning new systems and adapting to changing processes.
• Familiarity with Navigate, or similar case management platforms.
• Knowledge of community resources throughout Northern Virginia.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish, Amharic, Arabic are strongly preferred).
• Experience working with adult learners and/or first-generation students.
• Experience in human services, education, social work, counseling, workforce development, or a related field.
• Experience providing coaching, advising, case management, or student success support.
• Experience maintaining accurate documentation and managing multiple priorities.
• Experience with TANF, SNAP Employment & Training, WIOA, or other grant-funded workforce programs.

Responsibilities

• Direct student support to program participants
• Develop individualized success plans with students and help them establish realistic academic, career, and personal goals
• Program administration, data management, partner collaboration, and continuous program improvement
• Support student coaching, events, orientations, workshops, and other program activities
• Maintains accurate, timely, and complete program records and case documentation
• Tracks participant progress and program outcomes
• Meets grant reporting deadlines; ensures compliance with grant requirements, FERPA, and institutional policies; and effectively coordinates with program, financial, and administrative staff to support efficient program operations
