Job summary

Highmark Health seeks an HRIS Consultant to act as the functional architect and implementation lead for Workday and its connected HR tech ecosystem. The role focuses on Workday HCM—Core HCM, security, data structures, and cross-module dependencies—while coordinating with UKG for time and attendance and Salesforce for HR service delivery.

The consultant will mentor HRIS analysts, define design standards, and drive enterprise HR technology projects from design to go-live and hyper care.

Qualifications

• At least 8+ years of progressive HRIS/HR tech experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Workday HCM experience within that period.
• Experience leading at least one full-cycle Workday implementation or major enterprise Workday deployment.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a Workday functional lead or solution architect.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to facilitate design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise HR technology implementations from solution evaluation and design through configuration, testing, go-live, and hyper care.
• Define scalable Workday designs, system-of-record ownership, security requirements, and data flows across Workday, UKG, Salesforce, and other platforms.
• Serve as the senior functional SME for Workday HCM and evolve Core HCM, security, and data structures.
• Translate business needs into documented functional requirements, designs, configuration specs, and acceptance criteria.
• Review and approve complex Workday configuration and provide hands-on support for high-complexity solutions.
• Provide mentorship to HRIS analysts on configuration standards, business process design, security, testing, and documentation.
• Partner with HR, Payroll, IT, Security, Legal, Compliance, and leaders to balance UX, efficiency, risk, and sustainability.
• Develop a multi-year HR tech roadmap aligned to strategy and regulatory requirements.
• Lead testing strategy and adoption planning for cross-functional solutions.
• Evaluate emerging HR technologies and build business cases based on value and ROI.
