Job summary

Sentara Medical Group is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse – Physician Practice for a remote weekend day shift (Sat, Sun, Mon, 7am–7:30pm).

The role provides nursing care in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic, assessing patients, assisting with procedures, immunizations, and education while coordinating with physicians and staff. Licensure, ADN (BSN preferred), and BLS are required with ambulatory care experience welcomed.

Qualifications

• ADN is required. BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years ambulatory/clinic or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current RN license; NCLEX-RN passed; BLS required; AMB-BC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and performs triage in person and by phone.
• Assists physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administers medications and immunizations.
• Provides patient education and care coordination.
• Coordinates referrals and follow-up.
• Maintains clinical documentation and safety standards.
• Supports population health outreach and messages/results management.
• Documents care in the electronic health record.
