Sentara Health is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse – Physician Practice for weekend shift coverage in a Virginia Beach outpatient setting. You will triage, assist with exams, administer medications and vaccinations, and educate patients while coordinating care with physicians and staff.

The role emphasizes ambulatory care, chronic disease management, and population health outreach in a busy physician practice. ADN is required; BSN preferred, with RN licensure and BLS in place.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years ambulatory/clinic or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current RN license in state; NCLEX-RN passed; BLS required; AMB-BC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and performs triage in person and by phone.
• Assists physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Provides patient education and self-management support.
• Coordinates referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Manages patient messages and results within scope.
• Supports population health outreach.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and stocked clinical environment.
• Documents care in the electronic health record.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
