Job summary

Sentara Medical Group is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the Physician Practice, supporting outpatient care in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic setting from a remote weekend schedule (Sat, Sun, Mon, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.).

You will assess patients, assist with examinations, administer medications and immunizations, and provide patient education and care coordination, with EHR documentation and triage management.

Qualifications

• Ambulatory, clinic, or medical-surgical nursing experience desired.
• Knowledge of chronic disease management, prevention, and immunizations.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and immunizations.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
• Provide patient education and care coordination.
