Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Physician Practice in a remote weekend day shift role (Sat, Sun, Mon 7am-7:30pm). The RN will provide care in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic, perform triage, assist with exams, administer meds and vaccines, and educate patients.

Experience in ambulatory care and an active RN license are required. Associate Degree in Nursing is required; BSN preferred, with 1–2 years of ambulatory experience.

Qualifications

• ADN is required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years ambulatory/clinic/medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state RN license; NCLEX-RN passed; AMB-BC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and immunizations.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Document care in the electronic health record and support population health outreach.
