Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking a business developer to expand our private sector client base and elevate the role to a national leadership position within the firm. You will join a strong water and wastewater practice with national projects and collaborate with a cross-functional team to grow relationships and service offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field and at least five (5) years of relevant experience, including at least three (3) years in the relevant industry.
• If no degree, at least nine (9) years of relevant experience, including at least five (5) years in the relevant industry

Responsibilities

• Learn and familiarize with the Food & Beverage and other manufacturing industries to understand Mead & Hunt's support opportunities.
• Discover and engage with current and potential customers to grow relationships and service offerings.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal staff using various channels including web conferences, phone, and meetings.
• Maintain and update the CRM with forecasts, important dates, costs, and proposal statuses.
• Draft and develop technically written proposals using SMEs, vendors, and partners.
• Identify new sales leads and coordinate introductory meetings and follow-ups.
• Support proposal development and ensure review processes are followed.
• Participate in trade associations and national events.
• Keep updated on market drivers and regulatory topics.
• Travel nationally up to 50% as needed.
• Coordinate client and vendor meetings and document outcomes.
• Utilize AI tools to optimize business development activities.
