Job summary

The Standard is hiring a Voluntary Employee Benefits Consultant to partner with Sales, Underwriting and Product teams. You will support RFPs, pricing discussions, and implementation planning for clients across Michigan, Northern Ohio and Pittsburgh Markets.

This role requires built broker relationships, strong presentation skills, and deep knowledge of voluntary benefits products. Travel 3-5 times monthly is expected; residence in the specified markets is required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong relationships with Voluntary Practice Leads at national and regional brokerages.
• Experience presenting to national brokerage firms regarding sales strategy and company value propositions.
• Expert knowledge of voluntary benefits products (accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, cancer, life).
• Expert knowledge of enrollment support and benefit administration platforms.
• Residence within Michigan, Northern Ohio and/or western PA is required.
• Ability to travel 3–5 times per month; travel varies by market activity.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal departments (LAD Sales Reps, Sales Support, Underwriting, Policyholder Services, Billing, Compliance, and Compensation) to hit production goals.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with national, regional, and local broker partners for voluntary group and life products.
• Represent The Standard's voluntary benefits strategy through presentations, demos, and consultative discussions.
• Deliver training to internal and broker partners to enhance market knowledge of voluntary product portfolio.
• Analyze market trends and provide feedback to support corporate strategy.
