Job summary

Intermountain Electric, Inc. (IME) is seeking a VDC Engineer to bridge BIM VDC detailers and leads, ensuring coordinated, high-quality models for electrical construction projects.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and field teams, manage Revit/Navisworks workflows, perform clash detection, and support BEPs and model documentation. This role offers a strong benefits package and travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Aided Drafting, or a related field, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale projects preferred.
• Electrical construction experience preferred.
• Certifications in BIM VDC-related technologies are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing BIM VDC processes on assigned projects.
• Support development and maintenance of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• Ensure adherence to company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
• Manage coordination models using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and related BIM tools.
• Perform clash detection and track resolution of coordination issues across trades.
• Produce 2D drawings, shop drawings, and model-based documentation.
• Provide model extracts and coordination reports to project teams.
• Serve as a liaison between Detailer I/II roles and the BIM VDC Lead.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and field teams to ensure accurate system integration.
• Participate in and occasionally lead coordination meetings.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, foremen, and field crews to ensure constructability and timely issue resolution.
• Mentor and guide BIM VDC Detailer I and II team members.
• Assist with onboarding and training in BIM VDC workflows and software.
• Stay informed on BIM VDC advancements and recommend process improvements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
