Job summary

CLF Consultants LLC (DBA: CLFC Healthcare and Communications) is hiring entry-level Medical Support Assistants to support the VA VISN 19 Office of Community Care. You work from home and must reside within 50 miles of a VISN 19 VA Medical Center.

You will schedule appointments, verify patient data, document in CPRS/VistA, and coordinate with care teams while upholding federal privacy standards. Strong customer service and a high school diploma or GED are required.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• English proficiency in speaking and writing; basic computer skills.
• Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
• Minimum 6 months of customer service experience.
• Ability to pass a federal background investigation (NACI, Low Risk).
• Quiet home workspace within 50 miles of a VISN 19 VA Medical Center with reliable internet.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Veteran appointments for primary care, specialty clinics, and community care per VHA Directive 1230.
• Verify and update patient demographics and contact information to federal standards.
• Document interactions in CPRS and VistA; target ~20 cases per day.
• Coordinate with Lead Scheduler and care teams; escalate issues through defined channels.
• Provide empathetic customer service to Veterans, families, and VA staff by phone and secure channels.
• Complete cybersecurity, Privacy Act, and HIPAA training; maintain confidentiality.
