Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Human Centered Design & UX Analyst to advance user research and design across VA Connected Health tools. The role supports discovery through validation, translating insights into actionable designs for development teams, and ensuring accessibility and usability across products.

The position offers a fully remote arrangement within the United States on an established cross-functional team, with opportunities to work across projects like ambient AI scribe and patient engagement

Qualifications

Foundational understanding of human-centered design and UX principles.
Experience supporting qualitative research activities (interviews, focus groups, usability testing).
Ability to produce and maintain design artifacts (journey maps, personas, wireframes).
Familiarity with Mural or similar collaboration tools and facilitation skills.
Working familiarity with accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG 2.2).
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present findings.
Ability to work in fast-paced teams and meet deadlines.
Willingness to travel regularly within the continental United States for onsite research.

Responsibilities

Supports HCD and HFE studies using interviews, focus groups, observation, usability testing, and other methods.
Translates research into actionable recommendations for product teams.
Coordinates recruitment and scheduling for subject matter experts and Veterans participation.
Maintains interview notes and participant consent records.
Develops and maintains HCD artifacts (journey maps, personas, wireframes, etc.).
Performs heuristic evaluation and literature reviews related to product health records integration.
Supports field testing, user acceptance testing, and pilot activities.
Assists with accessibility conformance and VA Design System guidance.
Monitors app feedback and compiles weekly/monthly reports.
