Job summary

Jobot seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead utility-scale solar and battery storage design from concept through IFC. You will validate layouts, conductor sizing, and MV systems, serving as the go-to expert on DC/AC collection and code compliance.

The role is remote with monthly office visits and occasional site trips, offering strong growth, discretionary bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. Applicants must be US-based and eligible to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• Hands-on solar electrical design experience is required.
• EPC project experience and understanding of design cost/schedule impact.
• Strong knowledge of DC/AC collection, MV systems, grounding, and inverter configuration.
• Working knowledge of NEC and renewable energy standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design on utility-scale solar and BESS projects from preliminary design through IFC and construction.
• Review conductor schedules, string layouts, voltage drop calculations, equipment specs and layouts.
• Serve as SME on DC/AC collection, MV systems, grounding, monitoring, and code compliance.
• Run design reviews at key milestones (30%, 90%, IFC, construction).
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal teams on sequencing, procurement, and costs.
• Support permitting and field issue resolution during construction.
