Job summary

Jobot is seeking a senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. You will own the design from preliminary through IFC, ensuring technical accuracy, schedule adherence, and safe, compliant installations.

This is a remote role with occasional office visits and site trips as needed. You bring a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, hands-on solar design experience, EPC background, and proficiency with AutoCAD, PVcase, and NEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on solar electrical design experience required.
• EPC experience and understanding of design's impact on cost and schedule.
• Strong command of DC/AC collection, MV systems, string layouts, voltage drop, conductor sizing, grounding, and inverter configuration.
• Working knowledge of NEC and renewable energy standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PVcase, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
• US work authorization; sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design on utility-scale solar and BESS projects from preliminary design through IFC and construction, on schedule
• Review conductor schedules, string layouts, voltage drop calculations, equipment specs and layouts
• Serve as the subject matter expert on DC and AC collection, medium-voltage systems, equipment selection, grounding, monitoring, communications, and code compliance
• Run structured design reviews at 30%, 90%, IFC, and construction-phase revisions
• Find and resolve risks, gaps, and inconsistencies in design packages before they reach the field
• Evaluate design decisions for constructability, efficiency, equipment availability, code compliance, and cost
• Give technical guidance to internal teams, engineering partners, vendors, and subcontractors
• Work with engineering, preconstruction, estimating, procurement, and operations on sequencing, procurement, and cost
• Coordinate with customers, developers, AHJs, regulators, vendors, and outside engineering firms
• Support permitting by confirming designs meet NEC, customer, and jurisdictional requirements
• Support construction through field issue review, RFI responses, and change impact analysis
• Help improve design processes, review standards, templates, and lessons learned
• Maintain electrical files, drawings, and records, and manage multiple complex projects with accuracy
