Job summary

Eaton Corporation is seeking an Application Engineer for a fully remote role with up to 10% travel. The position supports UPS systems, prepares technical proposals, and leads cost estimates for bids up to $2M. Must have electrical engineering background or business with technical experience, and UPS/field experience is a plus.

Candidates must reside in KY, TN, NC, SC, MS, AL, GA or FL. No relocation offered. A variable incentive program is available and veterans are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a Business degree with Engineering/Technical experience and 1 year of electrical contractor estimating/proposal writing or UPS experience
• Alternatively, 3 years of experience in estimating/proposal writing or UPS systems field work without a degree
• Candidate must reside in KY, TN, NC, SC, MS, AL, GA or FL; no relocation offered

Responsibilities

• Interpret project specs and drawings and prepare responses and proposals for UPS systems
• Create proposals for projects under $2M and price sheets for management review
• Lead cost estimates with bid team and support proposal handoffs
• Act as technical liaison to customers, plants, Sales and Project Operations
• Travel up to 10% per year; review orders for accuracy; maintain proposal documents and schedules of values
